Interactive exhibition on Pope Pius XI

Immersive technologies and multimedia storytelling for the Jubilee

On the occasion of the Jubilee, the interactive exhibition I will build the House of Peace, the multimedia path dedicated to Achille Ratti, the Pope of Desio who profoundly marked the 20th century, was designed, curated, set up and inaugurated.

The exhibition, hosted in the historic spaces of Villa Tittoni in Desio, takes visitors on an immersive journey into the life, thought and vision of Pope Pius XI, a pontiff capable of combining spirituality, innovation and dialogue with the future.

A multimedia tour in 18 sections: history, emotion, interaction

The exhibition is divided into 18 sections, each dedicated to a central phase or theme in the life of Pope Pius XI. Not a static exhibition, but a dynamic walk through time, built through narrative environments and digital languages capable of engaging different audiences: adults, families, schools and pilgrims.

Technology becomes a storytelling tool, making the memory of a pope described as “the one who could see the future” accessible and alive.

Within the itinerary, the audio-visual solutions we produced represent some of the most iconic and immersive moments of the exhibition.

Wall touch: the origins of Achille Ratti

The birth, family and primary education of the young Achille Ratti are told through an interactive touch wall. Visitors can explore content, images and insights by activating the surface touchpoints, building a direct and personal relationship with the story of the future pontiff.

360° immersive room: passion for the mountains

The great passion for mountaineering, which led Pope Pius XI to mark routes that still bear his name, takes shape in an immersive room with 360° projections. An immersive experience that transports the audience to Ratti’s beloved peaks, restoring the sense of challenge, silence and spirituality that the mountains represented for him.

Interactive book: the pope who looked to the future

Pius XI’s prophetic gaze toward progress and innovation is told through an interactive browsable book. Here the great projects of the nascent Vatican State emerge:

  • Infrastructure development,
  • The investment in arts and sciences,
  • attention to new media such as radio and the astronomical observatory.

A tale that returns the image of a pontiff capable of using technology as a tool for dialogue with modernity.

Pope Pius XI’s hologram: presence and message of peace

The journey culminates in the chapel of Villa Tittoni, where the tangible presence of Pope Pius XI is manifested through a three-dimensional hologram. The Pope, first gathered in prayer then in dialogue with visitors, becomes a living symbol of his universal message of peace. A moment of strong emotional and spiritual impact for the visitor.

An audio-visual and technology project to enhance memory and territory

We were responsible for the design and implementation of the entire audio and video system of the exhibition route, integrating immersive technologies, interactive systems, and narrative environments within a valuable historical context.

The exhibition I will build the House of Peace is not only a tribute to Pope Pius XI, but also an example of how digital innovation and cultural heritage can dialogue to create meaningful experiences capable of speaking to the present and to new generations.
